Round 3: White vs. Yellow, 4:4

Friday February 10th, Soap Opera or .... White Eagles 4 – 4 Yellow All The
Way

The memorable game had all the excitement of a good soap opera episode…
we’ve seen dramatic development in personal relationships, emotional and
moral conflicts, hardworking lead roles… hard but fair tackles… and the
drama continued at the news conference after the game…. This report will
stay focused on the most important… final score and goals... dramatic
events after the game will be left aside.

The Game (soap opera episode 1)

The Yellow kept up the first-half pressure after taking a 2-0 lead,
limiting Eagles to shots from distance with Tytus and Shaun twice denied by
the rising goalie star – Patrick “Pootey” Apic.

By the 25th minute, the Yellow’s looked to have knocked the wind out of
Eagle’s sails… but Nick fired one wiggly giggly (from the center line) past
Costa and into the net…. 2:1…

Then "Cow Foot Rabs" walked into the field, turned to the Yellow’s captain
and said - “There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend: Those
trying to defend their net, and the people who have the job of putting the
ball into it. Guess what your role is tonight!!”… 10 minutes later and game
turned into White Eagles 3 – 2 Yellow all the way (to the bone)… Rabs
scored twice (brilliant assistances from Tytus)…

Mr. Treva “Ooops I did it again” responded with another one behind Eagle’s
keeper... and Gary F. couldn’t be stopped in his brilliant solo effort 10
minutes before the end… Eagles 3 – 4 Yellows all the way….

Again, the White Eagles played their last card… pressed harder than ever
before… "Pootey" pulled off fine saves from Tytus, Rabs and Nick… and Treva
made a couple of crucial interventions to preserve team Yellow's one-goal
advantage before Nick set up a tense finale with a long cross… Rabs rose to
head in Nick’s cross and sealed the deal at 4-4.

Team Yellow could not hide their disappointment… It was another battling
performance that left them with one point only out of 3 games…
