Yellow holds Blue to 1 point in 2 - 2 tie

Guest analysis by Midfielder Greg Michell

Friday the 13th

What a perfect setting for a Clash of the Titans: friday the 13th, a haunting moon, and more trash talking than a UFC media scrum. Who would prove triumphant?!
The match began with Blue and Yellow sparring like a couple flyweights...Then Greg magically spun a cross onto Trevor's waiting head. The latter deftly glanced the ball into the mesh breaking the stalemate. The gloves were off!
Wave after wave of blue attack wore the yellow bastards down with Ken "I'm taller than I look" Page heading the equalizer in off a lovely cross from Gary "that's my game Laddy" Mowberry. And the onslaught continued as Blue's pressure was relentless... In the 48 minute a searching ball into the box caromed off Paul "I'm as tall as I look" Carter and eluded Andrew through the wickets.
Blue was winning the battles but would they win the war?! Gary 'that fuc%@!'
Mowberry flagrantly fouled Sweet Trevor and the play became ever more chippy. Then Greg "you started it" Mitchell returned the favour and the testosterone apexed. Could Blue hold the most slender of leads... with just over 3 minutes remaining Jimmy"head down" Roberts streaked down the right and propelled the ball toward the Blue net, and it pinballed out to Trevor "long legs" Welsh who deftly spotted Andrew "the activist" at the low post and A-Male made no mistake knotting the tilt at 2.
A mad scramble ensued, puncuated by long useless goal kicks which prompts this writer to opine that goalies should only be able to throw?
As the game ended it was fitting the score was 2-2 as neither team deserved to win or lose...the spirited match solved nothing except that the Yellow guys are way nicer than the Blues, excluding Tim, Duder, Ken, Minos, John G, James, Chris, Paul, and of course Tito...who does that leave?!? Fun game one and all!
Just for kicks,

Scoring
Greg to Trevor YELLOW ... Greg spots Trevor running across the box --- Trevor's glancing, well placed header in the back of the net was one of the best goals of the season. Real quality play. Caught blue completely off guard.
Gary to Ken BLUE... Gary on a corner kick richochets is off Ken into the back of the net. --- (Yours truly should have really blocked out Ken)
Kenny to Paul BLUE ... Kenny plays a direct free kick to Paul in front of Andrew... which glances off "his inner thigh" and some how bounces between both Paul and Andrew legs into the back of the net. (Again sadly I think I was at fault here... should not have let Paul get position on Andrew argg..)
Trevor to Andrew. Jimmy strikes with a shot to Tim who blocks and the ball comes out to Trevor who spots Andrew down low on the left side. Andrew collected the ball cleanly then finished with composure on Tim.

Game was a very physical match between both sides.

Game had a lot on tennis aspects with way too many long balls from keeper to goal line... but I think this was due to building from the back being difficult for both teams because of presure from the forwards on both sides. Perhaps we should consider only throws from the keeper to keep the tennis match stuff to a minimum.

I really thought the team showed great resiliance eventhough the captain is somewhat humbled by his performance or lack there of.
